A peek at everyone else's cards

Most of the time you only see PRICE — you can't see who's actually holding what. The Commitment of Traders report, or COT, cracks that window open a little. Once a week the CFTC (the US futures regulator) publishes a snapshot of how the big groups are positioned across the futures markets. It won't tell you the future, but it does show you the crowd.
