The market sorts companies into sectors — big neighborhoods of similar businesses. Tech, energy, healthcare, banks, and so on. Because companies in the same sector face the same forces, their stocks often move together, like a school of fish turning as one. Understanding sectors lets you see the WHOLE neighborhood, not just one house.
