An option that thinks in years, not days

LEAPS stands for Long-term Equity AnticiPation Securities — a fancy name for options that expire more than a year away, sometimes two or three. While a weekly option is a firecracker, a LEAPS call is a slow-burning candle. Time decay barely touches it day to day, so it behaves far more like the stock itself than a short-dated gamble.
